In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, James Earl Jones looks back on his roles in such movies as The Lion King, Dr. Strangelove, and, of course, Star Wars — roles made potent by his famously sonorous voice. The funny thing is that the actor doesn’t pay much attention to it. As he told the paper, “You know, I don’t hear the voice you hear. I’m not party to the Darth Vader tone. All I’m doing is using the voice I have to try to be as clear as I can with the language I’m using.” The one time he did actively use the Darth voice was on a cross-country road trip. Apparently truck drivers really freaked out when they heard him on their CB radios. Read the whole interview in the Times.
