We got our first look at Gears of War 4 gameplay at last year's E3, our requisite emo trailer earlier this year, and an early look at the redesigned multiplayer combat in a public beta. But at E3 2016, Microsoft gave us a few new minutes of the over-the-top single-player campaign, featuring previous protagonist Marcus Fenix's son JD Fenix. It's full of monsters, one-liners, and a surprise reveal at the end. You can see it in all its grim and literally gritty — it's a big monster-filled sandstorm! — glory above.

Gears of War 4 is the first game in the series since Microsoft acquired it from Epic Games, and it’s being developed by The Consortium, formerly Black Tusk Studios. It will be released on October 11th, and it will launch alongside a custom Gears of War-themed Xbox Elite controller, which you can check out right here.
